Christ Presbyterian Church Seeks Director of Outreach to Young Adults and Families

The Middle Spring Presbyterian Church of Shippensburg is seeking a Youth Director to assume responsibilities by January 1st 2008, or as soon thereafter as possible. The Youth Director should provide adult Christian leadership to the youth of the church through meetings, service, and fellowship activities that will help to foster a Christian lifestyle and spiritual development in our youth. The Youth Director will be given the latitude to develop programs and activities that he or she is comfortable with and that accommodate the needs of the youth. Salary is negotiable. First United, Newville, Seeking Youth Director

First United Presbyterian Church in Newville, PA is seeking a dynamic individual for the non-ordained position of DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRY.  This is a part-time position that will require 15 to 20 hours per week. 

We seek a creative, motivated and open-minded person to whom God is calling to build upon our existing youth programs and activities.  We seek a caring person who will take the time to develop loving, grace filled relationships with our youth and their families as well as helping the youth plan, develop and implement programs of ministry and fellowship for the youth of our area. 
The applicant should have training or experience in working with youth in 6th through 12th grades, be a team builder and be familiar with and accepting of the Christian faith in the Reformed Tradition.  The individual needs to have a growing relationship with God in Jesus Christ and be able to model Christ in word and deed.

Part-Time, Interim Music Director Position

TITLE:  DIRECTOR OF MUSIC
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Director of Music is accountable to the Session through the Personnel Committee.  The position is supervised by the Head of Staff.

WORK TIME / FLSA STATUS
This is a part-time position.  The Personnel Committee will set the hours needed in consultation with the Worship Committee and the Head of Staff.  Four Sundays per year will be allowed as vacation.

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist the pastors and the Worship and Fellowship Committees with planning and providing an inspirational church music program for the liturgical calendar year.
2. Develop and utilize music talent, both vocal and instrumental, within the congregation.
3. Direct the Sanctuary Choir and Children’s Choir, and schedule rehearsals as needed.
4. Recruit and organize special solos and music ensembles.
5. Maintain the music library and choir robes.
6. Cooperate with the business specialist in the maintenance of musical instruments.
7. Participate in the preparation and submission of the church music portion of the Worship Committee’s annual budget.

RELATIONSHIPS
Meets regularly with the Head of Staff, Organist and Worship Committee to plan worship events.  Also meets with other groups, such as the Fellowship and Christian Education Committees, to plan and provide special music activities, as needed.

3. Organization and administrative skills
4. Ability to work with church staff and volunteers

EVALUATION
The Head of Staff and Personnel Committee will evaluate the Director of Music annually with input from the Organist.
